Network, Wifi and Cabling
It’s all wireless isn’t it?
The answer to the question, no it’s not all wireless. We know its 2022 and technology has advanced hugely over the years, but wires play a very key component to an efficient smart home.
The most important thing to remember is having a good wiring backbone, and that just doesn’t mean cables flung everywhere, without due care attention.
The type of cables you’re using, their properties and intended purpose is very important.
When cabling we ensure we run cables in a manner that doesn’t put strain on them, where we can well use cable trays and ducting to ensure cables are shielded from EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). Once the cables have been ran we then test every single cable to ensure it passes the ratings for its purpose. This report is then handed over to the client as proof that the cabling we’ve ran in will do its intended job.
Infrastructure for technology is often overlooked when people build their home. Many times we get called in, the walls have been painted and the furniture is already in place & then the client wants a smart home, often at times its not possible, but we will still do everything in our power to make this a possibility.
Ideally, the wiring for your technological infrastructure needs to be planned for and installed at the same time as your electrical cables. It’s just as important to the way your home functions.
Regardless of whether you’re at the planning stages of a new-build or looking to upgrade an existing property, we will put all of our expertise at your disposal. Not will we cater for your current devices, but we will also be thinking ahead to the future and what you may need going forward & running in cables for future purposes.

As well as a solid cable backbone, a smart home also requires a strong network and WiFi.
Regular ISP routers and modems (From BT, Virgin, Etc) are not nearly powerful enough to support a smart home system, this is because there is a lot of traffic on the network of all your smart home devices talking to each other.
We use araknis networks for all of our projects as Araknis Networks® devices were designed to meet today’s most stringent performance and bandwidth requirements. They also offer remote management through OVRC
